Optional and off by default. Stores one decoded player and staff snapshot on this device for up to 7 days, including the file name and snapshot date. Your original .fm file is not stored or uploaded. Returning to Scout restores the cached game automatically, including across English and Turkish pages. Refresh from save to read your latest career. Uncheck this option, use Clear save or Disconnect & forget to delete the cached game. Avoid enabling this on a shared device. Your browser may also clear its storage.

While this page is visible, we check file names, dates and sizes every 10 seconds. Recent or changing saves must settle before reading. Refreshing rebuilds the search snapshot; saving in FM is still required.
Remembering and permissions
Remember stores a read-only connection reference in this browser. The browser may ask for access again on a later visit. Reopening the page does not automatically decode a career; an opted-in cached snapshot can restore immediately. Disconnect & forget removes the reference, cached game and loaded results; browser file permissions can also be revoked in site settings.

How role-fit estimates work
Role fit is a Touchline estimate, not an official FM or Genie Scout rating. Priority attributes have weight 3; supporting attributes have weight 1, using our editorial role guides. Attribute fit = (weighted average − 1) ÷ 19 × 100. Overall fit = attribute fit × (0.6 + 0.4 × position rating ÷ 20). CA and PA are not used.
Position ratings are read from your save on a 1–20 scale. Best-role suggestions consider positions rated 15 or higher; position-to-role groupings are editorial, not verified selectable menus. Missing attributes or position ratings remain unknown. Reopen an older cached save to read the new position fields. No potential-role rating is inferred from PA.

Money display & conversion
The save’s monetary unit is not labelled as euros. EUR is an approximate ×1.165 conversion calibrated on a starting career, not a live exchange rate. Changing this setting also changes the value and wage filter units. Values are not asking prices; current wages are not new-contract demands.
On narrow screens, swipe inside the results to see every column. Click a column title to sort; click it again to reverse. CA and PA sort separately. Select a player to explore all attributes.

How are coaching stars estimated?
Each estimate combines the relevant coaching skills with Authority, Determination and Motivating. Goalkeeping and Fitness use one specialist attribute; paired assignments combine the specialist skill with Tactical or Technical. Set pieces combines Set Pieces with Tactical Knowledge. The weighted score is converted to half-star bands for comparison. These are unofficial estimates, not stars read from FM27’s training screen.
Saved staff skills stored on a 1–100 scale are divided by five; direct 1–20 fields retain their original scale. Decimal values are retained so filters and estimates do not lose precision. Human managers and combined player/staff objects are excluded. Coaching estimates require a recognised coaching profile code. Board, medical, recruitment and unknown profile codes receive no stars. Profile codes are not a verified current job title or proof that the person can be hired. Unreadable records are omitted and counted.
Staff CSV files are for spreadsheets. Find the staff member by name in FM, confirm their attributes and suitability, then approach them in the game. The CSV cannot be imported as an FM staff shortlist.
Using your results in an existing game
A CSV is a spreadsheet, not an FM shortlist file. Open the download in Excel, Google Sheets or a compatible analysis tool. Football Manager does not directly import this CSV into your career.
- Load the same career in Football Manager and open its player search.
- Find players from the CSV by name. Confirm the club, age and position to distinguish players with similar names; the export also includes their database ID.
- Open the player’s profile and use the game’s Add to shortlist action. Select or create the shortlist you want to use.
- Save or export that shortlist from inside FM if you want an importable shortlist file. This tool currently exports CSV only.
Importing a shortlist created by FM does not transfer players, change attributes or update a career’s database. Signings still require the normal in-game process.
A snapshot of your career
Save your career in FM, then use Refresh from save to update the snapshot. This page reads completed files and does not connect to the running game. Keep loaded game in this browser optionally caches one decoded player and staff snapshot for up to 7 days, so returning to Scout can restore it without another file selection or decode. The cached game shows its date and may be older than your latest save. Remember this connection is a separate option for read-only file access. Clear save and Disconnect & forget remove the cached game; unchecking Keep loaded game removes the cache while leaving current results visible.
Compatibility, data limits & reader credits
This beta supports FM27 desktop build 27.0.0+2486695 and database schema 4000. Other builds are rejected. The decompressed career database must be at most 512 MiB and contain at most 150,000 detected players. Use a desktop browser with sufficient memory for your career.
Player nationality uses the primary nation recorded in this save, resolved through its nation table and static FM27 country labels. Unknown nations are left unknown; second nationalities and home-grown eligibility are not included. Profiles are decoded from the selected save, without joining to Touchline’s published recruitment lists or requiring the installed game database. Unresolved club registrations remain unknown; a missing team is not proof that a player is a free agent. Reserve and affiliate registration labels require confirmation in FM. Names that cannot be resolved are excluded and counted. Newgen identity handling and compatibility with heavily edited careers need broader testing.
The reader uses fmsave’s MIT-licensed container and decoding primitives with a separate Touchline FM27 adapter. Upstream describes FM26 support; our FM27 support is limited to the build stated above. Read the license. Privacy details.
