Training & Tactical Effectiveness
Training has a dedicated primary navigation area, copied schedules return, and team preparation is more closely linked to your tactical approach. SI describes four Tactical Effectiveness inputs: Tactical Understanding, Player Ability, Player Buy-In, and Next Match Information. Tactical Complexity adds a measure of how demanding your instructions are.
For your save: compare your squad’s ability to execute a plan before adding more instructions. This is an editorial implication, not a tested winning formula.

Tactical Tweaks & match engine changes
SI has announced real-time Tactical Tweaks, additional Player Instructions, expanded movement animations, and redesigned shouts. Shouts affect players’ mental state with more contextual feedback. Heat Maps and Action Zones return, alongside a more adaptable match information layout.
For your save: use the new feedback to review an intervention instead of assuming every touchline change helped.

A clearer interface & smoother navigation
The primary areas are Portal, Squad, Tactics, Recruitment, Training, and Club. SI is moving navigation towards primary and secondary menus, using more full-screen views, adding control panels for common actions, and colour-coding messages by topic.
For your save: learn the main areas first, then configure the screens you visit most often so the information you use is easier to reach.

Cup draws, deadline day & a wider football world
Cup Draws and Transfer Deadline Day return. The Competitions Hub offers a broader view of loaded leagues, player Career History returns to a full-screen presentation, and the Transfers area highlights rumours and completed deals. Agent Offers are available through the transfer window.
For your save: these world-history and competition views are especially relevant when exploring a future-date unemployed career.

Crowds, stadiums & changing match conditions
SI describes improved supporter models and reactions, club shirts and flags in the crowd, more varied stadium structures, and surroundings that change with the season. A new time-of-day system allows lighting, shadows, and weather to evolve during matches.
For your save: a long career should show a clearer sense of changing seasons and different away grounds. We will assess the result once we can play it.

Manager identity, accessibility & newgens
Manager creation adds more appearance choices, accessories, a returning colour picker, and the option to specify up to four favourite clubs. SI has also announced wheelchair representation, increased font sizes, and more varied newgen faces, poses, and lighting.
For your save: the newgen changes should matter most to long careers; visual variety does not establish player ability or potential.

2D view, editor, advice & career details
The 2D view has smaller discs and ball, player feet, and more transparent nets. The In-Game Editor moves to a full-screen interface. SI also lists richer reports, a clearer NXGN 50 message, and restored access to shortlists and the player database while unemployed.
For your save: check the exact platform and edition before relying on a feature. Editor ownership and availability should be checked separately.
When can you try it?
SI’s 21 October announcement schedules the free PC/Mac Launch Preview for 29 October–3 November, beginning and ending at 18:00 GMT (21:00 in Türkiye). It lists full launch on 10 November. Check the official announcement for platform, subscription, and retailer conditions.
These dates come from SI’s Launch Preview announcement. The review date above records when this briefing was checked, not the publication date of every linked deep dive.
Our wonderkid, bargain, and annual budget guides will be published after their own in-game verification; an announced feature does not verify player prices or starting finances.
