THE REASON TO CARE
Troyes: survival outsider
Ligue 1’s official coverage confirms Troyes secured promotion in April 2026. That newly promoted status is the basis for our survival pick. We are not claiming verified relegation odds or an FM27 media prediction before testing the game.
Your opening moves
- Check which players are ready for the division before replacing the team that earned promotion. Keep a functioning spine.
- Recruit affordable pace, defensive coverage, and one dependable source of chances. Loans should fill real gaps, not block every prospect.
- Separate the survival target from the development target: decide which youngsters can play now and which need a loan at a suitable level.
Give the save its own rules.
- No assumed free loans or favourable deals from affiliated clubs.
- Give at least one player from the inherited squad a central role in your first season.
- Keep a wage plan that can survive relegation.
A career worth following
- First season: finish outside the relegation places.
- Next: establish consecutive comfortable league finishes.
- Long game: reach the top five with a player you developed becoming a key starter.
The trap to avoid
Connections and potential do not guarantee points. Prioritise a team that functions now over a collection of prospects you cannot develop together.
Check before you start
Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
