Parma: nineties nostalgia
Parma’s history includes UEFA Cup wins in 1995 and 1999. The challenge is to develop a new European contender rather than recreate old player names.
Your opening moves
- Audit the current squad for an adaptable goalkeeper, central defenders, and an attacking link player. Build around what you have.
- Recruit one emerging player for every experienced starter you bring in. Give each prospect a real route into the side.
- Use cup matches and a carefully chosen rotation to grow depth before a European schedule arrives.
Give the save its own rules.
- Keep the average age of permanent signings at 24 or below each season.
- Allow one older exception per season for leadership.
- Keep at least two Italian-developed players in your preferred XI when feasible.
A career worth following
- First phase: establish a reliable top-flight side.
- Next: qualify for Europe and win a domestic cup.
- Finish: win a European trophy, then make a serious league-title challenge.
The trap to avoid
Nostalgia can encourage expensive veteran signings. Give yourself one exception, not a squad full of them.
Check before you start
Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
