Palermo’s official history presents the club’s changing crests and long identity. This is an original challenge built around that identity, not a promise about starting budgets, ownership support, or squad quality in FM27.
Your opening moves
- Check your starting league and establish the minimum squad you need to compete without relying on a large mid-season rebuild.
- Map affordable recruitment options within Italy before broadening the search. Keep a shortlist for every position you could lose.
- Invest playing time in local or academy-developed prospects, even if progress is slower than buying an entirely new team.
Give the save its own rules.
- Keep at least two club-trained players in the senior squad when available.
- Never assume affiliated-club players will join; all moves must be agreed normally.
- Do not spend anticipated promotion income before promotion is secured.
A career worth following
- First phase: reach or consolidate in Serie A, depending on your starting database.
- Middle phase: win a domestic cup and qualify for Europe.
- End goal: win Serie A with a club-trained captain.
The trap to avoid
Planning around hypothetical loans or future income can leave holes in the squad. Have a workable independent plan.
Check before you start
Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
