THE REASON TO CARE

Dinamo Zagreb: outgrow the domestic stage

Dinamo’s official history records the 1967 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup win and more recent Champions League campaigns. This challenge asks you to establish domestic control and turn it into European progress. It does not assume the current league is already won or that Champions League entry is automatic.

Your opening moves

  1. Keep a league XI strong enough to earn your European route, then identify the specific weaknesses elite opponents will punish.
  2. Use the academy and recruitment market to create successors before selling your best players. Avoid rebuilding the spine immediately before qualifiers.
  3. Prepare a European match plan for opponents who can dominate the ball. Keep an attacking threat rather than reducing the goal to conceding slowly.

Give the save its own rules.

  • Keep at least three club-trained players in each European matchday squad when available.
  • No editor changes to coefficients or European entry.
  • Do not sell more than two regular starters in the same summer without ready replacements.

A career worth following

  1. First: secure the domestic title and the Champions League route shown in your save.
  2. Next: reach the league phase and then the knockout rounds.
  3. Finish: reach a Champions League semi-final with an academy graduate as captain.

The trap to avoid

Winning comfortably at home can hide weaknesses that appear immediately in Europe. Recruit against the level you want to reach, not only the rivals you already beat.

Check before you start

Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
