THE REASON TO CARE
Boca Juniors: la bombonera calling
Boca’s official Libertadores history records the club’s continental triumphs and the beginning of that story in 1977. This save is about building a new team worthy of the intensity, with the Libertadores as the central ambition rather than treating South America as a waiting room for Europe.
Your opening moves
- Build a first-choice spine for knockout football, with leaders who can handle away legs and a squad that still earns its domestic qualification route.
- Protect the most important young players with clear playing-time plans. Prepare successors before a major overseas bid arrives.
- Use the domestic schedule to develop depth without turning every rivalry match into a complete rotation experiment.
Give the save its own rules.
- Keep at least three Argentine-developed players in your preferred XI when available.
- Do not leave for a European job before winning the Libertadores.
- When a major talent leaves, give an internal replacement an audition before spending the fee.
A career worth following
- First: build a strong domestic campaign and secure the continental route your save requires.
- Next: win the Copa Libertadores.
- World stage: qualify for a competitive world-club event available in your save and beat a leading European opponent.
The trap to avoid
Passion cannot cover a thin squad through travel, domestic fixtures, and knockout ties. Keep the emotional identity and the practical rotation plan together.
Check before you start
Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
