THE REASON TO CARE
İstanbul Başakşehir: the other istanbul
Başakşehir won the Turkish league in 2020, as recorded by UEFA and the TFF. Your story is to turn an outsider title challenge into a repeatable winning project, competing with better-known domestic rivals. The underdog label describes our chosen challenge, not a claim about the released game’s budget or odds.
Your opening moves
- Choose one clear advantage: squad cohesion, a defensive structure, or a reliable chance-creation pattern. Build around it rather than matching bigger clubs signing for signing.
- Keep a shortlist of undervalued domestic players and flexible foreign recruits, checking the registration rules in your save.
- Plan for points across the full league. A derby upset helps the story, but consistency against the rest creates a title challenge.
Give the save its own rules.
- Do not spend more in transfer fees than the strongest domestic rival in any season.
- Keep at least three regular starters from the opening squad through the first two seasons when possible.
- Use normal negotiations, with no editor-created reputation or budget advantage.
A career worth following
- First: establish yourself in the European qualification places.
- Next: take the title race into its final weeks.
- Finish: win the Süper Lig, then defend the title while competing in Europe.
The trap to avoid
A short run of results can tempt you to act like the richest club in the league. Keep the recruitment discipline that got you into contention.
Check before you start
Confirm the club’s division, player availability, finances, competition rules, and database version. Keep an untouched opening save. If your database differs from the premise, adapt the challenge and record the change rather than quietly editing the game world.
